I know what you mean-you can’t tell the players without a program. I think Tax Foundation leans anti-tax without lying about numbers.

I always find the sort of comparison in the link to be fairly useless-kind of like “Best Places to Retire” lists. Sure, my dollar would go farther in MS than here in CA, but salaries are probably lower in MS and I would not like the climate. We are really fortunate to be able to live where we do, and I will cheerfully give up some of what I could buy with the money I would save by living in MS, to live here.

I know there are people who love living in MS, and this isn’t intended to put down their preference. It is just to point out that cost of living is not the end all and be all in picking a spot to live.

I can drive to a decent deli in less than 6 hours.
