Let’s assume climate change is happening. Other questions need to be answered before we jump onto Al Gore’s bandwagon.

1. Is the changed caused by man’s activities? I haven’t seen evidence that it is. I’ve read arguments that sunspot activity is a better predictor of global warming than CO2 levels.

2. Is climate change bad? Not necessarily. A warmer earth means more people who live in marginal areas have a greater chance of surviving. Their growing season gets longer, so they are less likely to die of famine, etc.

3. Can all the government controls proposed by Al Gore & Co. solve the climate change “problem”? Well, if climate change is not caused by human activity, I don’t see how government mandates are going to have any real effect on it. The mandates may have other bad, unintended consequences, however, such as ruining the economy and making everybody poorer.
