While I was so far ahead in reading in first grade, they had to bring over books from the upper elementary school for me. In fact, that’s why they put me, as a 2nd grader, in a 3rd-4th grade class at the upper elementary school, and probably why I got lost in math.

But they let you read ahead. Because they already could keep up. I wasn’t allowed to get ahead in math, because no one could keep up with me.
