I think that the reaction is a bit overwrought, but your analogy isn’t accurate. Calling someone an “Einstein” for doing something stupid is not a specific reference to race, ethnicity, religion…

I’m not sure that it’s “racist,” but it borders on bigotry - and while I don’t take deep offense, it does seem odd that you’re pretty much trying to defend it.
