One has to decide whether he’s a pragmatic or an idealist. There’s the old idealist in me who loves alot of Bernie’s ideas and the pragmatist in me who sees how Obama who is much more centrist and I think a better executive than Sanders struggle implementing much of his agenda. It’s not so much to be the most progressive guy or gal in the room, it’s so much more than that especially nowadays when you have people like Ted Cruz and the Freedumb Caucus.

I’ve likened Bernie, or at least the view his fans have of him, to Ron Paul in the past. Not out of malice, because I respect him and his ideas. But out of the realization that most of his support comes from those who think ideas are all that matter, that you’re not hampered if you’ve no way of making those ideas a reality. Many of them even mirror the mindset of Paulians that being elected means his ideas are so popular that the voting public will “punish” any who vote against them.
