I’ve never bought Bernie as a man of the people. The modern man of the people is different than what Bernie sees it as though. I hate messiah complexes. It’s why I’m drawn to practical minded campaigns.

I just think it’s a really odd way to try to sell Bernie to someone who isn’t already on board. I suspect advertising is being run past the true believers rather than actual focus groups. Or maybe I’m just too practical minded myself.
