I wouldn’t have thought Armenians would hate Jews. I would think that Armenians would consider Jews to be comrades in misery, considering the people the Armenians hate the most.

Somebody tried to pull a fast one, I bet.

Apropos de nada, something jarred my memory of this interesting sentence:

“Though the rough cough and hiccough ploughed him through….”

In spite of the Esperanto pushers, the English language has become the language of international commerce. In spite of a number of anomalies.

For instance, SAS, the Scandinavian airline, uses English rather than Swedish or Norwegian as their common language. This might be because the international language of air traffic control is English.

English cognates also show up a lot in the Russian language. “Motortsikl” and “Avtomobil” being two of them. IIRC the Kremlin thought it was an insidious Yankee plot. :)

Is there anyone besides Harry Harrison who even uses Esperanto any more?
