Are they saying that sexism doesn’t exist in the atheist community, or that they just don’t want to allow sexists to hang out in their corner of it?

Could be either, mind. I don’t know much about atheist organizations (my husband is a solitary atheist), and I can’t make heads or tails out of their Venn diagram of the universe.

It looks like the former. They seem to seriously dislike sexism, but they don’t seem to see its existence in atheist circles as some sort of treason, and on that score they are correct. Sexists appear in some form in most human social orientation, many driven by ideology but others are just men who want to dominate and control women.
