I wouldn’t say “fumigating”, but I’d say that at least the the FBI Headquarters needs to have some very…thorough visits from the Office of Professional Responsibility.

And Comey should put his own head on a pike. Not one of those “spend more time with the family” resignations. But something that has a full narrative of what went wrong and why his resignation is REQUIRED for the good his agency, instead of being fired by POTUS.

There are real investigations happening right now. Some of them people will cheer (Trump, Russians) and some of them will have people crying foul (Clinton Foundation). But FBI investigations shouldn’t be partisan events. They should be investigations and just that - if they turn up nothing so be it. If they end in indictment so be it.

In the context of the election, asking Hillary to comment is as harmful to her candidacy as her responding to the question with “There is no case there”(actual quote)…that’s not a great answer and only fuels the word parsers. Pointing at Trump and saying, “Well, he was speeding too!” (fake quote) is also not a great argument.
