Geraghty makes the same error of ignorance that happens often with climate deniers: spout a big number and, well, it’s real big, so, let’s make an assumption about that number based solely on it’s value.

He says ‘we spend $52b a year and people still complain.’ The assumption is that $52b is a lot, even enough. It’s just a number though, with no real context.

$52b could be way more than enough, or far short of enough, or just the right amount. He doesn’t f’ing know, he just makes an assumption based on nothing more than the size of the number that it’s big enough.
