re: #337 Rev_Arthur_Icantbreatheing
Just wrapping my head around whatever happened with justanotherhuman and the trans discussion. I have a trans person on my FB who has been going really nuts over the last few days after the SSM decision. She’s not happy, because trans people are still discriminated against. OK. She even brought up a trans person who was murdered in Brazil. I get that. But you can celebrate the victories (even the ones that aren’t yours, per se) while still realizing the battle is not over.
Am I wrong with this perspective?
My guess and this from an outsider looks in perspective (boring white straight male) is she doesn’t want people to forget that transpeople still do struggle and I think it’s a legitimate concern. And I will say after reading an article about bisexuals on Cracked yesterday, they too get lost in the confusion and sadly face intolerance from both straight and gay people.
