Although a militant atheist, I can’t agree with the first meme. Many (maybe most) believers are taught that God only helps those that help themselves. So being taught to pray doesn’t mean one won’t be able to solve problems in adulthood.

There are those groups of fundamentalist whackos that do teach the extreme. They are becoming more numerous and, frankly, dangerous to the rest of us. i.e. Hobby Lobby

added: I have a homeschooling friend who had a hard time finding homeschooling groups that are not like this.
