Here’s the thing. The Democratic Party in the past 8 years has spoken of inclusion for transgendered Americans, non-believing Americans, and many other groups who were never spoken for in what the party’s far left consider the party’s “true progressive era.” I consider myself a FDR fan but there are many things that FDR did not do because of playing it safe politically and honestly his own prejudices that the so called “corporate” Democrats do today. If they want to know why in part left wing economics don’t sell, it’s in part because of that WWC, they infantize so much, that group that was okay with things like government health care and other government programs when they thought only white people were benefitting from them. The other thing is left economics are harder to sell in part because of the system we’ve created. We have fewer and fewer people alive today who remember life pre-New Deal.

This is why I have been getting pissed off at Bill Maher and his transphobia schtick. I am not a boutique issue. I am a person who deserves social equality like anybody else.
