And burying power lines brings out its own set of problems - see areas that are flooded (it can take longer to restore power in flooded areas than non flooded areas because utility cables would need to be rethreaded and utility spaces need to be dried out - a tough task where you’ve experienced flooding and high water table persists.

It’s also much more costly to install, not to mention maintain even when there are no weather issues
