I used to go to the powwows in Central Florida, Georgia and Alabama. My g/f was a dancer and silversmith and I’d watch her booth when she danced.

Anyway, I met this fellow, a Kiowa man from Oklahoma who came with the drum. He asked me if I had any Indian in me. When I said no, he said, “Do you want some?” Old joke, but I never heard it before. Those guys were a riot.

A friend of mine, a Cree from Kawacatoose, told me he used that line this past summer at the Craven Jamboree. Apparently it worked.

Actually I think it was his personality that did the deed.
