The census data is used to determine Congressional seats, decide on community services and funding to those communities. You would really only hurt yourself to lie about it.

Gaming is a whole different part of the government. The census would probably be used to determine services to the reservations, but the tribes control the gaming, and like I say, they figure out if you are who you claim you are. That’s very important for them so they don’t have others using their services.

You may not like to have labels, but people ARE different and the native tribes are certainly deserving of what they’ve managed to obtain.
