The fact that is even possible should tell you the EC system isn’t the best way to decide a Presidential election. I can’t imagine many other countries where a candidate could get that many more votes than their opponent and still LOSE.

It’s like saying: “Okay, the Patriots won the Super Bowl by three touchdowns but we’re going to give the trophy to the Green Bay Packers because they have the larger fan base.”

Here’s the question though: If we were to theoretically abandon the EC and go straight popular vote, wouldn’t the Democratic candidate win most of the time?
