If the Air Force is strained by this, buy more planes. Ask Barney Frank for the money; he is used to dealing with large sums with no oversight. He should be able to buy a couple of heavy-lift airframes from petty cash.

I’m all for the US Air Force having greater airlift capacity. However, it takes time to order up and deliver new C-17s.

If he is calling on us to sacrifice in the present with higher levels of taxation, and in the future with unprecedented levels of deficit spending and debt, then shouldn’t he sacrifice as well?

Our troops in the field should be our first priority.
