Totally agreed. However Dowd’s intellectual hack work can still be lamented apart from Wilson.

The crappy thing is her cutting commentary hits the mark when she ties Wilson to those groups. This is the lesson of the tea parties and their stupid signs and associations with other groups of ill-repute.

I don’t think Wilson a hero and I don’t know of his associations. I think that what he said at that particular instant was what a lot of people are feeling. To discount him because of past associations is not possible at that moment in time. Where is the one true, ideologically pure person out there who can criticize The Won? Someone we can all agree on instead of hanging our heads and tut - tutting? I don’t know if that person exists?
