I got the same email. I looked at what Blackbaud sent. I then went to the web page at Blackbaud.

I don’t know how you could prove that the data had been destroyed. I just don’t. If it were my non-profit, I’d be asking a person like Brian Krebs (or someone similar with that kind of background) what he thought about this information.

I got the same message from our local NPR station (nothing from ACLU yet). I was wondering the same thing. I’m pretty ignorant of this stuff, but I thought of it as if someone showed themselves destroying incriminating photos after receiving the ransom—but they still have the negatives.
