A few days ago, a commenter here said that Japan already has everything it needs in place to construct a nuclear arsenal, and could go nuclear within three months. The U.S. government’s promises to stop North Korea, now looking increasingly fragile, are the only thing preventing that.
I don’t think nuclear proliferation a good thing, but given the repeated failures of previous U.S. Administrations to stop the North Koren nuclear weapons program, coupled with the haplessness of the Obama Administration, I think it inevitable.
And I’d trust the Japanese much more than the North Koreans or the Iranians.
They wouldn’t want to nuke a good customer.
