I will take this opportunity to again tell my Todd Starnes story:
While in the throes of fundamentalism (I got better), I had the opportunity on several occasions to interact with Starnes when he was at Baptist Press, the propaganda arm of the Southern Baptist Convention.

I cannot point to a single example, but I can say that the overall impression of everyone in our office who came in contact with Starnes was that he was a shit-weasel. This was back in the 1990s. I see he’s become even more of one since then.

Like a good wildlife biologist, I would say that shit-weasels, like fire ants, have a purpose in the greater biosphere… ‘cept I can’t think of a single one.
