Sure, those were neo-Nazis.

Now, colloquially I may use “Nazi” myself, when I’m lazy or on twitter, to describe neo-Nazis.

But when someone is already using the more precise and correct term with the prefix “neo”, “correcting” them by recommending to drop it is incorrect in this context.
