What I mean by that is that the protesters in Iran may see those comments - distorted as they are - as being more supportive and provide encouragement to continue the good fight against the evil regime. Ahmadinejad already sees the US meddling regardless of what he says, but supportive words to the protesters are a step in the right direction.
