re: #348 FFL (GOP Delenda Est)

The results for my brother were not very surprising since an uncle did some genealogy research on my father’s side back in the 1970s. And a direct ancestor was part of a study done in the late 1960s that produced a thick book on the results. Plus a friend of my brother does genealogy studies and did one of his family for free of which I got a copy of the results.* We knew that the family tree was going to be very heavily Germans with some Irish as well.

* - The surprise of that study was that a family name on my mother’s side that we thought was Scot (Rose) was actually a German name (Roos) that had been anglicized at some point in the mid- to late- 1800s.

So you actually did trade your kilt in for lederhosen! Joking aside, your line sounds a little like my Dad’s. Our line is more recent though. I don’t have any direct ancestor that I know that arrived in the 13 colonies days. The earliest one was my GGGG Grandparents from Alsace who did in Washingotn’s first term and I have the fatehr’s will.
