I know. People will get dressed like they’re going to be exposed to subzero temperature for 12 hours to get from their car to the door of their store. Most modern inhabitants of the urban landscape overreact to cold events.

It is a bit of sport for some. I’ve gotten calls from my parents asking me “so, I heard you really got a lot of snow, you aunt so and so think you should move out of Denver, they get too much snow.” Then I’ll respond, “what snow?”

It’s seems to be a common response that the rest of the country thinks Denver stays snowed in for the winter. Denver gets less snow than some east coast cities and areas.

During a normal winter, Denver may have two or three large snow events a year.

And once in a while, like 2006-2007, you get a blizzard every weekend for 6 weeks straight. But that’s rare.
