Vitter’s situation really reminds me a lot of what happened with George Allen here in Va a few years back. Guy looked unstoppable for re-election but he proved himself to be an idiot.

He also made the mistake of assuming that saying something ridiculous at a local event wouldn’t blow up in his face nationally.
