Security decisions ultimately come from the USSS; they don’t want firearms in the hands of anyone other than law enforcement and USSS when it comes to protecting their principal - Trump.

A mere excuse. They are not standing on principle. They could tell the Secret Service that their concerns are unwarranted. They are hypocrites, and the Democrats should hammer them on it.
