well, 11th CAV is at FT Irwin, CA. do you mean 1st Squadron, 11th Cavalry regiment. If you do, then yes. A strong unit.

In Vietnam, I visited a good friend in the 1/11 Cav. and they were wearing the 1CD patch. Maybe they were attached at the time. Don’t know.
