re: #215 Bass Reeves

This may be somewhat missing the point of the BLM focus. When you talk about ‘internal unity’ in BLM, you are dealing with a group whose focus is NOT GETTING SLAUGHTERED IN THE STREETS BY COPS. BLM is not focused on winning elections exactly, more like NOT GETTING SLAUGHTERED IN THE STREETS BY COPS.

The response to BLM in the larger progressive movement was All Lives Matter, which is seen by many in the BLM movement as an attempt to either suborn the BLM struggle, or erase it totally. So the BLM feels there is no ‘wide progressive solidarity’ already, because they have been absolutely attacked by progressive just for having the movement. Again, with the focus of not getting slaughtered in the streets by cops.

In my opinion, the BLM members will more than likely vote for the Democratic Party candidate, because what choice do they have? But if they shake up the candidates (basically Hillary and Sanders) enough, the candidates may be forced to actually make some policy promises that deal with the issue of police shooting unarmed black people all the damned time.

Been away.

Two years from now we will be entertaining President Walker or President Clinton. Which of them is most likely to help people NOT GET SLAUGHTERED IN THE STREETS BY COPS? Or does it even matter?
