I just watched a falcon take down what looks like a grackle in my side yard. The falcon is now enjoying lunch.

Nature is cruel.

I was walking to lunch in Madison a few years ago and all of a sudden grey feathers were floating down around me. I looked around startled and saw one of the peregrines nesting on the capital building sitting on top of a pigeon with a look in her eyes like “So?”
