OK. I will say I was pretty panicked after 2016 ended. But the special election wins, and the increasing margins, in places we were consistently losing, has made me way more optimistic.

FiveThirtyEight said there were possibly 7 governorships the Republicans could pick up. Minnesota’s was one of them. That took me by surprise; Tim Pawlenty notwithstanding, Minnesota isn’t as Republican as all that. It’s mostly a very vocal minority in a very specific small area around the Twin Cities.
