Colbert and Julian Assange of Wikileaks

You can clearly see that Wikileaks is biased and acting as a political operative. It’s not about information or journalism in my view. Colbert uses not so humorous humor in acerbic manner here to flay Assange over his somewhat hyperbolic portrayal of the incident.

What Assange is doing is akin to Breitbart, but not quite the same or as high a level of subterfuge. In Breitbart’s case he’s sending in actors and editing to manufacture news. With Assange he’s “leaking” selective bits of real events and information and priming the audience towards how they should receive it. Of the two Assange is the lesser of two evils, but he’s evil nonetheless — he’s much more masterful with his agitprop than Breitbart as well.

I’ve been around for lots and lots of years and I have never heard or seen the word “agitprop” and today, in the space of a few hours, I’ve seen it twice. Now I’m not saying that Thanos and Andrew Breitbart are the same person… I’m JUST asking questions…
