It’s all some revisionist history fantasy. This country has been in conflicts that used the military, even if not outright declared wars, for a significant portion of our 235 years. Yes, today with our professional military it’s costing us more and we use bigger/faster weapons, but the idea that somehow the US was engagement-free in our past is fantasy.
