How many people here continue to read Slate, the Washington Post, and the New Republic despite the fact that all three publications-nearly to a person-crapped the bed on the second Iraq War? I do.

I don’t think the Guardian can be FULLY trusted (no publication can be), which is why I questioned the “refused a lawyer/offered a lawyer in the 9th hour” distinction. That’s big. But again, if Miranda wasn’t offered a lawyer til the last hour & refused a translator, how does that make us safer?
