Does Young Conservative know that Thomas Jefferson, that bleeding heart liberal, believed a well educated population was necessary for a democracy to survive? That the Northwest Ordinance required there be land set aside for public schools in every township? Sure, it took awhile for “free” public education to be established everywhere, but it’s in keeping with the very foundation of our republic. [It’s not really free, since it’s funded with taxes, but free in the sense there are no school fees. I was really surprised that students in China have to pay to attend K-12 schools.]

Young Conservative wants to take America back to the good old days, when only the upper classes got an education and the lower classes were lucky to read and write.
