He’s an opportunist first and foremost, and will tailor his message to his audiences at the time telling them what they want to hear. Most politicians have this gift, but few are as overt as Obama has been. Obama could easily crib phrases from the koran (after all, that’s the job of speechwriters and his researchers).

It’s also another reason to treat everything he says with an expiration date, since he’s just as likely to say the opposite to another crowd.
