The general level of entertainment these days is appalling, although I suppose it always was.

I think any of us, as we get older, find ourselves less tempted by what is offered as “entertainment”.

And commercial media know this, which is why they split of the ratings demographics into age groups.

One thing that has changed the past 50 years is the scale.

Today Americans are watching much more TV.

And the choices available are vastly expanded.

And, as I noted, the nature of programming is that the producers always strive to up the stimuli.

And that is why “VR” now is being so researched - that is the next step in upping the stimuli.
