Harry Truman had a saying “If you can’t stand the heat, get out of the kitchen.” Meanwhile Abraham Lincoln suffered far worse criticism than your Father did and was handling a Civil War and losing a child and he didn’t complain at all the way your father does. So my advice is maybe your father isn’t cut out to be President. No shame in admitting that. I know I’m not.

And while dealing with all those immediate issues… Lincoln still kept enough focus on the long-term to fund a transcontinental railroad and land-grant colleges. And, oh yeah, balanced the budget by raising taxes to pay for the war.
