As it was happening yesterday, Jim Acosta said on CNN that word from the White House was that Trump was upset he was being criticized for “hiding in a bunker.” There was no other message other than “Trump strong Not weak”. The church did not know he was going to do this so they won’t have put anything on the sign. It was a rushed photo op that backfired spectacularly.

But that’s the point. The photo itself does not convey the message of, “Trump strong.” It conveys the message of, “Here’s a dotard in a cheap suit holding a Bible like it’s bloody Palm Sunday.” The message of the photo is entirely in the context.
