It’s almost funny to read the comments of some of the more left wing bloggers like Greenwald. They really expected Obama to be as radical as they are, and it eats at them constantly that he isn’t.

You’d think they just learned about politics a few months ago.

And he never was a far lefty. I think people saw what they wanted to in Obama. Maybe that is because a lot of his positions are nuanced.
But he always said he would increase troops in Afghanistan, never promised a public option (though he preferred it), and many other things that the far left are against.
Yes he made promises who couldn’t keep…Gitmo, is a big one. DADT still in place.
But he has accomplished an amazing amount of big legislation in a hostile political climate.
