Indiana gets a couple good ice storms a year but after the first snowfall people remember wtf they’re doing. When I was in college in Knoxville we got about 6” of snow one afternoon and people were driving like they had never seen it before. I was headed out somewhere, I got a few blocks up the street and turned around before one of those idiots could kill me.

1st winter we were in atlanta (12 years ago) we had an “ice storm” (freezing rain for a couple of hours) The roads were dry within 2 hours after it stopped with ice still on lawns, in trees and roofs.
Trees did lose branches which fell on power lines causing scattered outages. We were without power for 5 days

The city virtually shut down for a week
