The more I think about it, the more I see cap and trade as not just a handy way of taxing the shit out of all things fossil-fuel, but as a big thumb trying to gouge out the eyes of red states like Alaska, Texas or Wyoming and shifting whatever jobs that would be created to blue states like California or New York.

For all of the unions support for 0bama, if he goes ahead with Cap and Trade it will be interesting to see how they sell it to the members. One of Bush’s biggest concerns with any Global Warming or pollution control treaties was the effects on American workers. He didn’t want unfair restraints put on American workers, yet labor supported 0bama en masse and he is about to stuff it so far up their collective asses they might never recover.
