I have a friend I call “All the same”. He’s a nice guy, but he’s got some really freaking bizarre views that he can’t be moved on. Like believing in ‘luck’, that if you flip a coin ten times and it lands tails up every time that the next throw is more likely to be heads up next time. I can demonstrate to him all I want that he’s wrong, show him real-world tests, show him the math, and he just says “All the same, I think you’re wrong.”
He’s a very nice guy, though. Politely obstinate.
Probability issues like that is one of those things where “common sense” fails miserably.
