Yes- that was a problem when I was in the Army. Affiliation with Aryan Nations types and things like white power or known gang tattoos were grounds for a dishonorable discharge in the Army- I’m not sure what the penalty would’ve been for an officer.

Not up on my UCMJ, but I think if a caucasian was spouting the white power talking points like Hasan was spouting his jihadi talking points, the penalty could’ve ranged anywhere from an Article 15 to demotion.
