“Conservative” now is racism, sexism, xenophobia, plutocracy, kakistocracy, religious dogma, ignorance, anti-intellectualism, rabid capitalism, and anti-democracy all rolled up into a neat little ball. In the old days, Republicans and Democrats had some common ground and could at least pretend to work together. Now there is no common ground, and the GOP’s answer to everything is NO. It’s nice to see them getting a taste of their own medicine finally.

Precisely. And that’s what I’m hoping returns. I’m not expecting conservatives to agree with me on most but I’d like to see some agreement on basic principles not just of government but of humanity too.
