No, the number system is a bit confusing. Gov. Romney was Romney 1.0, the first iteration back when some liberalism in the software was acceptable.

Then came Romney 1.5 in 2008, with a lot of the same coding but a few tweaks, like butching himself to portray Obama as “weak” on foreign policy.

Then came Romney 2.0 in 2012, with almost all of the liberal routines stripped out and the values on the conservative ones cranked up to the max. Unfortunately, this had the side-effect that what had seemed like a congenial but bland candidate turned out to be a rich asshole who saw himself as preordained to the White House.

Apparently the Kickstarter campaign for 3.0 stalled, which is why we’re going to get Bush 3.1 instead.

Ah okay but what about the Romney in ‘94 that ran against Ted Kennedy for senate. The one that tried to out lefty Teddy on LGBT issues and tried to run away from the social conservatism of Reagan and Bush I. Teddy had a great line on Mitt from that campaign- “I’m pro-choice, my opponent is multiple choice.”
