SRSLY. How hard would it to simply say: “We don’t have complete information on that situation yet: we will check with Naval officials and issue a statement shortly”? And then have a staffer compose a brief thoughts-and-prayers/praise-for-our-sailors release? Or anything that doesn’t make the POTUS look and sound like a goddamn imbecile?
