I’m not sure El Baradei’s interests line up with those of the Islamists. They likely think of him as Tea Party members think of John Huntsman: tainted by his service outside of theirsphere of influence.

I get the feeling El Baradei is more than happy to be a useful idiot and serve as the secular face of a theocratic state.
