Not terribly surprising. Cooperation between Washington and Tehran was always going to be sketchy at best even on the issue of rampaging and destabilising Sunni fighters. I never put much stock in it myself. I only expect things to get truly hairy if it appears Baghdad might fall and that is a big if.
